EnglishBenQ Romania, the local susidiary of electronics producer BenQ, posted 40% sales growth in the first half of 2007, mainly due to an increase in sales in the notebook, photo camera and projector segments, according to a company press release. BenQ has had a significant growth pace on the Romanian market. Currently, the company holds a 38% market share on the projector segment.
BenQ"s Romanian partners are Altex, Darer, Proca Romania, RHS Company, Tornado Systems and StarPrint. BenQ Romania posted a turnover of 16 million EUR in 2006, as compared to 8.2 million EUR a year earlier. For the current year, the company expects a 60% increase in turnover.
BenQ is a producer of digital displays, mobile phones, scanners and keyboards. Three business groups manage BenQ"s product lines: Digital Media Business Group, Integrated Manufacturing Services Business Group and Mobile Communications Business Group. BenQ Group comprises 10 companies that operate independently while sharing resources and leveraging synergies among them. The group"s 2006 revenues exceeded 16.5 billion USD.
