Individuals and companies based in Brasov County rank second among bad debtors to banks with a total of 137.93 million RON, after Bucharest with 487.99 million RON. Timis County ranks third with 78.09 million RON. The overall value of overdue debts to banks rose to 1.69 billion RON in the first half of the year, up by a whooping 134% from the 723.79 million RON in the first half of 2008. Overdue payments towards foreign currency-denominated loans increased by 118% to 474.25 million RON. Tulcea County is the last on the debtors" list with 4.73 million RON. Four other county also posted a value below 10 million RON: Covasna - 6.03 million RON, Satu Mare - 9.06 million RON, Vrancea - 9.36 million RON and Giurgiu - 9.57 million RON.
