EnglishThe Brasov County fiscal authorities are auctioning off this week over 50 hectares of greenhouses, nearly 90 hectares of arable land as well as buildings and other assets of Sere Codlea for a starting price of some 25.51 million RON (nearly 8 million EUR). Vasile Tibrea, a director with the local fiscal authorities, said the company owed over 18 million RRON to the State plus various other debts to the State Assets Recovery Authority (AVAS). AVAS made a first attempt to sell Codlea assets last year, but no one showed any interest. Sere Codlea was privatized in the year 2000, when Agro 2001 - Dolj bought the majority stake from the State Domain Agency. Agro 2001 owner Maria Schutz has been under investigation for various suspicious activities in several counties.
