OPCOM, the energy market operator, has announced intent to begin testing the centralized forward energy contracts on February 26th. Companies interested in participating can request an access card and card reader to log in to the trading system. The testing procedure has recently been approved by the Market Committee. According to Viorel Alicus, spokesman for the market regulator ANRE, said the test period was at least one month and should reveal and correct problems occurring during the trading process. He added that contracts closed during the test period would be demos.
