Spanish-based law firm Garrigues has announced an ambitious plan to expand on CEE markets. The first move was to open an office in Warsaw, Poland, and will be followed by the opening of national offices in the newest EU members, Bulgaria and Romania. Garrigues has acquired Fuster & Sartorious and will begin operations in Warsaw with a team of 15 lawyers. Jose Palacios, a Garrigues partner and one of the people in charge of the international expansion strategy, said that the opening of the office in Poland was the first of several major steps. The two newest partners, Jaime Fuster and Jacobo Sartorius, will become regional managers. Garrigues already has offices in Shanghai, Casablanca, New York and Brussels.
