Lafarge yesterday reported a 6% increase in Q1 sales to 3,695 million EUR year-on-year, a 58% increase in EBITDA to 345 million EUR and 362 million EUR net revenue.
The management explained the good results by the positive impact on the roofing materials business and the cement, aggregates and concrete operations in Central Anatolia, Turkey.
According to a press release, cement sales gained 10% to 2,195 million EUR, whereas the EBITDA of this segment gained 50% to 298 million EUR. Aggregates and concrete sales gained 3% to 1,278 million EUR, whereas the EBITDA gained strongly to 18 million EUR. The overall market trend estimated by Lafarge is solid growth and price rises, especially in Europe.
