The mayoralty of Bucharest"s District 3 yesterday announced, that it has received requests from 168 homeowner associations (approximately 14167 apartments), for the documentation needed for registration in the thermal remodeling program. So far, 72 other homeowner associations (5833 apartments) have filed requests for inclusion in this program, together with the necessary documents. According to a press release we received, the mayoralty considers that the thermal remodeling of block houses will lead to a 40 - 60% decrease of utility bills. So far, thermal remodeling works are under way for four blocks (150 apartments) and the works are scheduled to be completed at the end of 2009. Four buildings in the areas of Lipăneşti, Armeniş, Constantin Brâncuşi, Câmpineanca underwent thermal remodeling works in the third district, in 2008.
