Ten Romanian towns will participate in an URBACT 2002 - 2006 project under which they will be supported to generate sustainable urban development strategies to later implement projects financed by the organization in 2007 - 2013. The ten Romanian towns to participate in the URBACT project are Odorheiu Secuiesc, Iasi, Sighisoara, Alba Iulia, Bucharest (Sector 2), Timisoara, Piatra Neamt, Sacele, Brasov and Blaj). They will receive an expert advisor to help them define urban development strategies either for the entire town or for a part of it. A conference will be held in Bucharest in early March to introduce the project formally.
