Port operator Socep Constanta reported losses of 180,000 RON for the second quarter of 2007, while turnover rose by 4.3% to 9.48 million RON (3 million EUR), compared with 8.83 million RON in the year-ago quarter, according to a report to the Bucharest Stock Exchange. In the first quarter of the current year, the company posted a net profit of 345,000 RON.
Socep Constanta reported a profit of 165,000 RON for the forst half of 2007, compared with losses of 396,300 RON in the same period last year. Turnover amounted to la 18.58 million RON (5.92 million EUR), down 0.3% from 18.63 million RON in H1 2006.
The company expects gross profit to rise by 30.4% this year, to 3 million RON. Socep Constanta ended 2006 with a net profit of 1.98 million RON and a turnover of 39.13 million RON.
On August 13th, Socep shareholders will discuss an 8.6 million RON increase in share capital, from 34.34 million RON to 42.92 million RON. The company has a share capital of 34.34 million RON (10.16 million EUR), divided into 343,425,744 shares with a face value of 0.10 RON.
Socep Constanta is listed on Tier 1 of the Bucharest Stock Exchange as SOCP. The significant shareholders in the company are Celco SA (10.48%), SIF Oltenia (7.85%), Romanian Reconstruction Limited - Cyprus (5.2%) and Stere Samara
(5.30%).
