Furniture retailer Staer International announced it would open a new store in Braşov on February 12th. The store can be found in the trade complex Cometex, which was launched at the end of 2008 by Cometex, the real-estate division of the Altex group, and it will have a total retail area of over 4.000 square meters.
The Gala i company Staer hopes to open four more stores this year - in Brăila, Târgu Mureş, Bacău and Focşani. The company currently has 26 opened stores.
Cometex has invested 6 million in the Bra ov complex. The latter has been developed on a 7750 square meter land, the construction being two stories high, (ground floor and first floor), with a total surface of some 8700 square meters, of which some 7500 square meters intended for commercial purposes.
The complex also has an outside parking lot with more than 120 parking spots. The planning and designing stages for the new commercial complex began in Spring 2007, and the construction began in November 2007.
Cometex, the real estate division of the Altex group, was bought following a public auction, held by the Romanian National Securities Commission (CNVM) in May 2005. Cometex current real estate portfolio includes Suceava and Fălticeni. The strategy for the year 2009 includes the development of Greenfield projects in the cities of Timisoara and Arad.
