After a year of consultations, ten Romanian businesspeople have created the Romanian Business Leaders Foundation-(FRBL). Yesterday, in a press conference, the board of the Foundation has announced the first summit of Romanian businesspeople will be held between February 3rd - February 5th 2012.
The FRBL was created by the following personalities: Ioana Filipescu, Andreea Roşca, Dragoş Dinu, Anca Harasim, Lucian Butnaru, Ioana Filipescu, Mihai Marcu, Dan Pascariu, Mihaela Perianu, Cătălin Dima, Sorin Axinte.
Mihai Marcu, the chairman of Medlife and founding member of the FRBL, said: "The Foundation isn"t a goal in itself, but rather an idea whose time has come. It is intended to change the conception that anyone who runs a business in Romania is dishonest, that when a law is drafted or amended we shouldn"t be consulted, that there is nothing that can be done to improve things in this country".
300 successful entrepreneurs will attend the 2012 summit.
NBR advisor Adrian Vasilescu, who attended the conference on his own behalf yesterday, said that Romania and the world are at a crossroads, and no one can tell what the future is going to be like, but it is known that nothing is going to be like it was before 2008. The Romanian society needs to be prepared for new challenges.
Sorin Axinte, founder of the RRBL, strategy consultant, shareholder of Glue Bucharest, has presented a poll made in August 2011, which evidences that 86% of the interviewees think that nothing can change in Romania, 67.9% consider that an honest businessman can not be successful, 73% think Romanian entrepreneurs are dishonest, 87% think that businesspeople are divided and 87% think that honest businesspeople should get involved more in the affairs of the state etc. In a constantly changing international contest, Sorin Axinte has stressed that things need to change in Romania, when it comes to transparency, innovation, human resources, the development of businesses which add value, and the increase of the appetite for starting businesses.
