ButanGas Romania reported a net profit of 1.2 million EUR for the first three months, up four times from 300.000 EUR in the same period last year. Operating profit increased nearly tenfold, totaling 1.6 million EUR, compared with 175.461 EUR in the year-ago quarter. Turnover rose by 41%, from 9,3 million EUR to 15.8 million EUR.
The company ended 2006 with a turnover of 56.8 million EUR. Gross profit increased by 93% yoy, amounting to 2.1 million EUR. Last year, ButanGas Romania had over 10.000 customers and the company estimates that their number will increase by 15%-20% this year.
The majority shareholder is ButanGas Group with 93.9% in the company, followed by Petrom SA with 6%. Butan Gas Group operates in several European countries such as Germany, Austria, Italy, Greece and Romania.
