Renault - Nissan expects a 5-to-10% increase in sales this year up from the estimate 23,000 units sold last year, according to Renault Nissan Romania GM Nicolas Ianculescu. The company has announced a preliminary Y2006 turnover of 230 million EUR.
According to the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association (APIA), Renault secured a 7.9% market share in Romania last year (23,500 units), placing second after Dacia"s 36.3%. Clio and Megane were the best selling models.
If the sales made by Dacia - Renault are included, Romania is the 6th largest market of Renault after France (650,000 units), Spain (200,000 units) and Germany, UK and Italy (140,000 units each).
