EnglishABB Romania, operating through ASEA and Brown Boveri, achieved a Y2007 turnover of 100 million USD, up by 40% y/y, according to Country Manager Peter Simon. Projections for this year point to a 25% turnover increase.
Last spring, ABB and Renault signed a contract for a line of ABB robotic equipment to be used at the Dacia Renault factory. According to Simon, ABB is now negotiating a similar agreement with Ford, which recently acquired the Daewoo - Craiova car plant.
ABB has also opened a service department for all the five divisions of the company: Energy Products, Energy Systems, Automation Products, Process Automation and Robotics. Also, ABB has been involved in a number of major energy projects in cooperation with Electrica, Transelectrica, Termoelectrica, Hidroelectrica, E-ON and ENEL.
