EnglishRomanian-based carmaker Dacia delived 94,949 units in 2007, ranking among the leading car sellers in the country, according to Brent Valmar, president of the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association (APIA). Renault came second with 29,388 units, followed by Volkswagen with 23,315 units. Valmar, who is also CEO of Porsche Romania, the Volkswagen importer to the country, estimates that the German brand will grow 5% in Romania in 2008 to 24,500 units. The recently launched compact SUV, Tiguan, will contribute some 1,000 units to the overall sales.
