State-owned energy provider Electrica Transilvania Sud SA held auctions yesterday to buy electricity from the Centralized Market for Bilateral Contracts (PCCB), managed by OPCOM. However, the auctions were annulled as no one was interested in participating in it. Electrica Transilvania Sud had planned to buy 70,730 MWh.
The auction was structured onto five packages of 14,160 MWh each. The maximum offered price was 176 RON/MWh with delivery between August 3rd - September 30th. Nonetheless, contracts signed on PCCB last week included a price of 182-to-185 RON/MWh. Electrica Transilvania Sud will also organize an auction to buy 183,600 MWh on the Romanian Commodities Exchange. The delivery period is August 1st - December 31st.
