EnglishThe Petrotel-LukOil Refinery in Ploiesti will invest 40 million USD this year to improve oil processing technology and implement environment care measures, according to GM Igor Fedorinov. According to him, Petrotel refined 2.3 million tons of oil in 2006 and is likely to do even better this year, considering last year"s two idle months reserved for maintenance. Although operating profit was positive last year, the net result was negative. Fedorinov late last year announced 120 million EUR investments in Petrotel"s environmental programs over the following five years in order to secure a full environmental license. Another plan is to build a cogeneration-based thermal power plant as of 2007.
