Comelf Profit, Turnover Up in Q2

Comelf Bistrita reported a net profit of 1.68 million RON (538,919 EUR) for the second quarter of 2007, thus marking an 88.7% increase from 890,429 RON in the same period last year, according to a report to the Bucharest Stock Exchange. Turnover amounted to 25.84 million RON (8.24 million EUR), up 6.9% from 24.16 million RON in the year-ago quarter.

In the first half of the current year, the company posted a net profit of 2.56 million RON (817,000 EUR), up 57.65% from 1.62 million RON in the corresponding period of 2006. Turnover rose by 13.6%, from 46.87 million RON in H1 2006 to 53.26 million RON (17 million EUR) in the first six months of the current year.

For 2007, Comelf Bistrita expects a net profit of 5.24 million RON (1.5 million EUR), up 46% from 2006. Total revenues should amount to 111.2 million RON (33.32 million EUR), while expenses are expected to reach 105 million RON (31.47 million EUR).

Ther company has a share capital of 13.58 million RON (4 million EUR), divided into 23.4 million shares with a face value of 0.58 RON. Comelf Bistrita is listed on Tier 2 of the Bucharest Stock Exchange as CMF. The majority shareholder is Uzinsider, with 76.64% in the company.
