The Competition Council authorized the acquisition of Bere Mures - Ungheni by Brau Union AG - Austria. The council found that the acquisition would not hinder fair competition on the Romanian market. Besides being a brewery, Bere Mures is also a minor player on the mineral water market. The Council also ruled that the economic concentration would not bear significant effects on the market and would also not create a dominant position on the Romanian brewery market.
