Shares issued by Erste Bank on 27 May within an employee loyalty scheme began to be traded on the bourses of Vienna, Prague and Bucharest on 23 June, the bank announced yesterday. A total of 722,918 shares were issued under the bank"s Employee Share Ownership Programme (ESOP) and Management Stock Option Programme (MSOP) raising the total number of Erste Bank shares to 317.01 million. Employees who obtain shares under these schemes have an obligation not to sell for at least one year. Erste Bank concluded last year with a net profit of 1.17 billion EUR, following a record-high Q4 net profit of 336.8 million EUR. Erste Bank shares are listed on Wiener Boerse, the Prague Stock Exchange and the Bucharest Stock Exchange as EBS. The bank has a market value of 49.34 billion RON (13.44 billion EUR) as per the quotation of 156 RON/share set on the Bucharest Stock Exchange on Friday.
