Over 80% of the people whose property was confiscated by the communists have accepted the Finance Ministry"s offer to receive Transelectrica shares in compensation, according to Economy & Finance Minister Varujan Vosganian quoted by NewsIn. The overall value of the claims is 3 million RON, equal to 4% of Transelectrica"s share capital. The sum of the available shares is 5%.
Transelectrica shares are listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) Tier 1. The company has a share capital of 732.97 million RON divided into 73.29 million shares. The State controls 76.5% in the company, whereas Fondul Proprietatea has 13.5%. Transelectrica posted an Y2006 profit of 280.76 million RON (83 million EUR), up 3.4 times year-on-year.
