Lafarge Agregate Betoane Bucharest Posts 6 Mln RON Profit For First 9 Mths 2006

Lafarge Agregate Betoane SA Bucureşti reported a turnover of 75.119.111 RON for the first nine months of 2006, up 71,4% from the corresponding period of 2005 and gaining 17,25% compared to the whole year 2005. Operating profit amounted to 8.558.638 RON, being 190 times higher than in the first nine months of 2005 and double compared to the whole year 2005. Net profit for the period 01.01-30.09.2006 was 5.883.543 RON, almost double compared to the whole year 2005.

In June 2006, the company secured a 14.000.000 RON loan from Lafarge Ciment (Romania) SA Bucharest. The loan was granted for one year, without guarantees and the money will be used for investment plans and current expenses. A significant investment made by the company in 2006 was the acquisition of land worth 550.000 EUR from Romaco SA Brasov in order to continue and develop extraction and processing activities.

Lafarge Agregate Betoane SA Bucharest operates in the construction materials industry, being one of the largest domestic manufacturers and providers of construction raw materials. The company issues shares that are traded on Rasdaq, Tier 1, under the symbol AGEM. In the last year, share price has oscillated between 9,3 RON/share and 18 RON/share.
