The Competition Council has cleared the economic concentration achieved by Macon - Deva through the acquisition of seven companies of Simcor Group, namely Simcor, Simbeton, Simterac, Simcor Management, Simcor Var, Simsped and Simpromat. The Council analyzed the new developments and came to the conclusion that the acquisition by Macon of the seven Simcor Group companies does not lead to the creation or consolidation of a dominant position on the relevant markets that would lead to the limitation, termination or significant distortion of fair competition. Thus, although this case of economic concentration is subject of the Competition Law, there are no serious doubts regarding the compliance of this operation with the existence of a normal competition environment. Macon manufactures and markets construction materials including prefabricated concrete structures, mineral wool, aerated concrete, terracotta tiles and concrete bricks. The acquired companies are in the same line of business and manufacture more or less the same products.
