Rompetrol Group"s financial services company IFN FinGroup Credit plans to acquire the brokerage company UniCredit Securities, according to a Rompetrol press release. UniCredit Securities was put up for sale by Unicredit Group at the beginning of 2007, following the merger between Unicredit, HVB Bank and Tiriac Bank. The National Securities Commission (CNVM) will assess the documents sent by the Rompetrol Financial Group before approving the takeover.
Currently, Rompetrol Group controls three companies listed on the Romanian bourse, namely Rompetrol Well Services (PTR), Vega (Vega) and Rompetrol Rafinare (RRC).
IFN FinGroup Credit, part of Rompetrol Financial Group, was established in January 2006. According to Rompetrol representatives, the acquisition of UniCredit Securities will allow the company to diversify its financial services portfolio.
