Rompetrol Group NV (TRG) doubled turnover in Q4:2006 to 1.36 billion USD and reported a four-fold surge in EBITDA to nearly 40 billion USD yoy. For the entire year 2006, the group reported EBITDA of 164 million USD and a consolidated turnover of 5.65 billion USD. The figures are preliminary, unaudited and compliant with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The final results will be released after the audit, in Q2.
Rompetrol Group CEO Dinu Patriciu said: "Our target for this year is a 7 billion USD turnover group-wide, exclusively through the organic growth of our member companies and their business. In 2006, we added a new subsidiary, Ukraine, on the Rompetrol Group map and this year we will continue to expand by consolidating on the existing markets as well as by entering new markets.
For Rompetrol Rafinare, Q4:2006 brought a significant turnover boost to a total of 720 million USD, up by 51% yoy. The company reported EBITDA of nearly 30 million USD, up from 7 million USD in Q4:2005. The consolidated turnover of Rompetrol Rafinare climbed 23% to 2.65 billion USD, whereas EBITDA reached 125 million USD, down from 158 million USD in 2005. The refinery is one of the leading tax payers in Romania, with nearly 830 million USD in 2006 and 726 million USD in 2005.
