Our maverick minister of Finance, Sebastian Vlădescu, who is a biking aficionado, hired Dan Bittman, the lead singer of Holograf, as advisor on citizen issues, in order to handle direct contact with people.
This appointment, which surprised many, comes after another - Andrei Gheorghe, who was appointed as PR consultant for the Ministry of Public Finance - an appointment which raised just as many eyebrows.
The Minister of Finance, Sebastian Vlădescu, explained yesterday: "I hired Dan Bittman for his notoriety and he will be responsible of dealing with people directly. Both Bittman and Andrei Gheorghe are reliable people. Everyone"s perception of the Ministry of Finance is "Here be dragons", but people that work here are very good at their jobs ", Vlădescu said.
He added: "Perhaps my language is a little too technical sometimes which may make it difficult for me to get my point across. However, we won"t become artists over night and we won"t have Dan Bittman singing an ode to taxes ".
The lead singer of Holograf said: "My function in the ministry will most likely be to change the way the public perceives it: as a seven headed dragon ".
