Signal Iduna Asigurari de Viata has started operations in Romania following an initial investment of 20 million EUR and is aiming to become a leader on the voluntary health insurance segment, according to Signal Iduna Services Executive Manager Sorina Niculescu, quoted by NewsIn.
"Signal Iduna Asigurari de Viata will offer a wide array of life insurance products, including unit-linked products, accident insurance and various additional insurance options," she said. Signal Iduna Asigurari de Viata is a subsidiary of Signal Iduna, one of the leading health insurers in Germany, established over one century ago.
Initial proceedings, including market studies, the business plan and the licensing documentation, were performed by Signal Iduna Services SRL, established in 2006. The company has already had preliminary discussions to cooperate with trade union confederation Blocul National Sindical.
