French company Systra received approval from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to provide consultancy services for the refurbishment of tram tracks in Iasi. The value of the consultancy contract reaches 600.000 EUR.
In February, the Iasi Municipality contracted a 15 million EUR loan for the refurbishment of 16 km of tram tracks in Iasi. 10 million EUR will be granted by EBRD, while a 5 million EUR syndicated loan will be granted following an agreement between EBRD and Raiffeissen Bank. The loan will be repaid within 13 years, with a grace period of three years.
Systra is one of the largest companies operating in the field of rail and public transit consulting. France-based Groupe RATP and Group SNCF each hold 36% in the company, 28% being held by various banks. According to company data, Systra posted 205,4 million EUR in turnover for 2006.
