Vienna Insurance Group Buys 20% In Asirom For 98.2 Mln RON

Vienna Insurance Group has bought 130,943,500 shares in Asigurarea Romaneasca - Asirom Bucharest (RASDAQ:ASRA) for 98.2 million RON. The package accounts for 20.17% in the insurer and was sold by Interagro, according to Vienna CEO Guenter Geyer. Vienna has thereby increased their stake to 50.17% and became the majority shareholder. As per the law, the majority shareholder has to make an offer to buy out minority stakes. Until then, voting rights exceeding 33% are suspended. According to a report dated October 4th, AVAS holds 7.97% in ASRA. Asirom has a share capital of 64,890,932 RON divided into 648,909,323 shares with a face value of 0.1 RON. The company concluded H1 with a net profit of 2.09 million RON, down by 78.2% y/y.
