Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari Posts 189 Mln EUR Turnover in H1

Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari posted gross underwritten premiums worth 189 million EUR in the first half of 2007, recording a 23.5% increase from the same period last year, according to a company announcement.

On the general insurance segment, the company posted gross underwritten premiums totalling 173 million EUR in the first six months, up by 35 million EUR from the first half of 2006. Operating profit on this segment amounted to 4 million EUR, similar to that obtained in the same period last year, according to an Allianz Group report.

On the life insurance segment, Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari posted gross underwritten premiums worth 16 million EUR in the first half of 2007, recording a 6.6% increase from 15 million EUR in the same period last year. The company posted losses of 1 million EUR on the life insurance segment, compared with a profit of 1 million EUR in the first six months of 2006.

CME (Pro TV) Posted Q2 Revenues of 52 Mln UDS in Romania

Central European Media Enterprises (CME), the company that controls Pro TV, Acasa, Pro Cinema, Pro TV International, Sport.ro, Pro FM and InfoPro, posted Q2 revenues of over 52 million USD in Romania, according to the CME website. Romania is the second largest market for the company, following the Czech Republic, which generated revenues of approximately 80 million UDS in the second quarter.

Globally, Central European Media Enterprises posted revenues of over 216 million USD in the second quarter of 2007, thus marking a 38% increase from the same period last year. The company"s net profit amounted to 34.6 million USD in Q2, up by 27.3 million USD from the year-ago quarter.
