Banca Românească cut annual passive interest rates for standard deposits in lei, euros, dollars, British pounds and Swiss franks, with the new interest rates coming into effect valid starting Tuesday, according to a press release by the bank.
Savings accounts in lei and Euros with interest payable on maturity will be paid an interest rate of up to 11.25%, and 4.75%, respectively, according to their maturity and associated facilities.
Interest rates for deposits in dollars vary between 2.25%-3%, whereas for sterling pounds, the interest rate is set at 3%. Deposits in Swiss franks will be paid an interest rate of 1.50%, according to their maturity.
Interest rates for time-deposit accounts in lei and Euros payable monthly were also revised. In this case, the largest interest rate is 9.75% per annum and 3.75% per annum, for Euros.
Interest rates for the "Flexible" account in Lei, Euros and Dollars were not revised.
"The bank has recently adjusted its interest rates for loans as well as for deposits to match the new market conditions, while still keeping them attractive", officials of the bank said.
