The objectives announced before within the Partnership for Romania remain in place. "It"s about the chance to give the country a stable Government and to have a Cabinet on 22 December," said PD-L President Emil Boc yesterday. He added that he had accepted to take over the Office of Prime Minister from Theodor Stolojan and thanked President Basescu for the confidence he had shown him by nominating him for Prime Minister.
Boc also announced that he would set up an economic - financial advisory group of experts of the National Bank and the civil society "to present the Government with the best expertise and the best solutions to the problems Romanians are currently confronting." Theodor Stolojan is "one of the most valuable resources" of PD-L and, if he wants to, he will remain on the PD-L team in charge of the ruling programme, Boc added.
Boc mentioned that he had found out about Stolojan"s decision to step down a day before. According to him, from a procedural point of view, he had informed the Party"s decision bodies, that is, the National Bureau of PD-L. Shortly afterwards, he had informed the PSD partners about "the current situation."
