Today, August 10th, BURSA celebrates 25 years - continuous publication, independent journalism, relentlessly upright, rising, presenting the human evolution.
For us, truth is not the goal, but the foundation.
We do not have to strive to tell the truth, our relationship with facts is implied as a requirement for the journalism that BURSA practices, because we do not have any other backer than the public, you, our readers.
We have never been financed by anybody, money is the object of our articles, but not their goal.
BURSA and its press group are an example, a living demonstration that you can start a newspaper with 300 dollars, in 1990, without media experience, without financial know-how, without connections, that you can be honest in business and in publishing and still survive in a hostile environment, with dishonest and often dirty competition, that you can grow step by step even after 25 years of toilsome building, in which you have accumulated what you were missing in the past, to stay clean and proudly print this anniversary edition today.
It is clear and obvious that we have been supported by you, the readers.
What you probably don't know is that the work of journalists that have succeeded each other at BURSA (the Romanian mass-media is full of journalists who cut their teeth with us) has been tremendous, far above the level required anywhere else.
What you probably don't know is that tremendous work is not enough to remain a journalist for BURSA, but that it also takes abnegation and social vocation, breathing and living the topics, that the schedule is neverending, that there is no down time.
What you probably don't know is that work, abnegation and vocation are not enough, but that one also has to seek the meaning of the events, that it takes intelligence and flair to interpret events.
This is the technical goal of BURSA's journalism: starting from the premise of truth in reporting the facts, to find their meaning consistently and rigorously, which they will then submit to you and have you evaluate them.
Naturally, I want to thank you, BURSA's readers, for your loyalty and appreciation that support us.
But, upon the anniversary of 25 years of publishing, I want to thank you and all the journalists that have worked and are currently working at BURSA.
Many happy returns to you and to us!
