For the time being, the PNL is going alone in next year's elections

The PNL has the capacity and strength to go to the elections alone, the liberal leader Nicolae Ciucă, the president of the Senate, said yesterday in front of his party colleagues.

According to those from News.ro and Ştiripesurse.ro, Nicolae Ciucă said: "Several polls were analyzed. We have a period where we stabilized between 20-21%. The last independent survey shows us that we are not bad, we are still there. PNL is at 21.5% of total voters. But I don't like to talk about it because it's a snapshot. Trends for PNL are rising. Alliances, coalitions were discussed. At the moment we are in government, our main concern. Together with the presidents of the branches, with those from the executive management, we will have to establish our direction for the year 2024. We have left open all the hypotheses on which we can work. In the last interview I said: PNL has the ability and strength to go to the elections alone. Why should we be afraid? We have been in government for three years! There are things I did well and others not so well. But, brothers, let's talk about why we did good. 2000 construction sites opened through the involvement of PNL. We closed 2022 with economic growth of 4.7%. 49 billion euro nominal value above estimate. And today we live off the money we managed to attract from 2022! The largest absorption of European funds. This is what we live for, why should we be ashamed, why should we be ashamed to talk to people? The party must be mobilized. Mobilization must come from each of us. We have to see what our goals are, the directions of what we want to do. Not necessarily next year, but after 2024".

The president of the PNL also stated, according to the cited sources, that the PNL does not enter into an alliance against anyone, and the only agreed political construct would be the one made around a well-consolidated country project.
