Gabriel Rosia Montana has announced the opening of the first micro-financing company in Rosia Montana, Alba County: Rosia Montana MicroCredit. "This institution is intended to help the people of Rosia Montana, Abrud, Campeni and Bucium who would like to start a business or expand an existing business," reads a press release from the mining company.
"It is already known that our project will create over 600 direct jobs in the operational phase of the mine and over 1200 jobs during the construction works," said Gabriel Rosia Montana CEO Alan R. Hill. "The true test of our commitment to the community goes beyond employing the locals. We encourage the diversification and sustainable development of the economy of Rosia Montana and surrounding communities," he added.
Rosia Montana MicroCredit is opened at a time of difficulties for Rosia Montana Gold Corporation as the 4 bln USD project is stuck in administrative work and confronted with strong local, national and international opposition.
