Granini intends to triple sales in 2007 and reach at least 5% of the non-carbonated soft drinks market. Since the Granini brand was added to the Carlsrom Beverages portfolio in June 2006, both brand awareness and brand trial rate have increased significantly, but 67.1% and, respectively, 40%, according to a survey conducted by IMRCG in September 2006.
At the end of last year, sales reached 3.5 million bottles of 1 liter and 0.2 liters. Internationally, Granini sales gained 18% in the January - November interval to 217 million liters. Sales of fruit-based soft drinks in the Eckes-Granini portfolio gained 9% to 885 million liters.
Carlsrom Beverages Marketing VP Catalin Ignat said: "The consumers increasing preoccupation for a healthy lifestyle helped the natural juice market in Romania double between 2000 and 2006. Last year"s increment was 18% from 2005. At the end of 2006, we introduced two new beverages, 100% apple juice and a fruit cocktail containing 10 vitamins."
