Health care services provider MedLife posted a turnover of 7.6 million USD in the first six months, recording a 52 % increase from the same period last year. The growth was mainly due to the diversification of health care services, as well as the launching of Life Memorial Hospital and the private medical insurance division AsiLife, according to CEO Mihail Marcu.
The volume of laboratory tests performed by MedLife in the first half of 2007 rose by 30% from the same period last year, the number of patients surpassing 1,000,000. The company recorded over 100,000 subscriptions for medical services, up 40% from the corresponding period of 2006. Also, the number of cash-paying customers increased by 70% in this period.
In the first six months, MedLife invested over 6 million EUR in medical equipment and staff. Currently, MedLife employs 470 people, compared with 270 last year. MedLife has a market share of approximately 25% in Bucharest.
