Orange, the leading player on the Romanian telecom market, reported 8.04 million customers (+18%) at the end of 2006. Ten years after its establishment on the Romanian market, the company reported annual revenues of 1.08 billion EUR (+24.4%). Orange Romania also reported 383,248 broadband customers and aggregate investments of 1.2 billion EUR.
Last year, investments focused on expanding EDGE to countrywide level, 3G to 20 cities and the proprietary distribution network to 42 stores. Also in 2006, Orange Romania passed two important milestones: 7 million customers in February and 8 million customers in December.
