Click!, I turn on Antena 3 on CNN, and I see "TV CHANNEL SEIZED" displayed on the screen, in red letters.
And it gets me thinking.
"How can this be?!"
If the TV station has been seized, then it should not be able to post that.
It could only do that if it wasn't actually seized.
Television is a non-interactive video-game, the only two reactions allowed are changing the channel or turning off the TV.
My finger gets stuck on the remote, when the beautiful mestizo Laura Nureldin comes on: "Antena 3 is the most credible TV station".
The remote falls out of my hand.
Stating that you are the most credible TV station, just as you are displaying a lie that says it has been seized!
Laura Anca Mariam Nureldin, aged 35 and coming from Iaşi, is a graduate of the university of psychology Hyperion.
I've heard that they've now eliminated the study of logic in Psychology colleges.
I've examined the classes that Hyperion includes in the curriculum of the University of Psychology and indeed, I did not find logic among them.
Shame!
From the very beginning of studying logic, you are faced with the two definitions given by Aristotle, for sentences that are true:
1. True sentences are those that unite things that exist together in reality and separate things that exist apart in reality (Physics);
2. True sentences are those which claim that what is is and what is not is not (Metaphysics).
It's no big deal.
These are common sense definitions.
But if one doesn't know them, then how can one major in Psychology?
For example, in Psychology, she must have studied, for example, "mythomania", which is defined as "the innate tendency to twist the truth", with its four manifestations:
1. Malignant. Tied to an inferiority complex, which it must compensate for;
2. Vain. The mythomaniac is trying to demonstrate his worth, without any compunctions;
3. Wandering. The mythomaniac constantly lies, as a form of escapism;
4. Perverse. The goal of the lies is to defraud others (the mythomaniac is a crook).
How can one recognize "the twisting of the truth", if they do not know what the "truth" is?!
But maybe the university curriculum is not fully to blame for the blatantly misleading nature of the "SEIZED TV STATION" messages displayed by Antena 3, even as it does a full-on broadcast. Because the mythomania is not the result of ignorance, rather, it has a major dose of immorality as well.
Furthermore, the beautiful Laura Nureldin did not say that Antena 3 broadcasts "the truth", but rather, that it is the most credible TV station", and between what is credible and what is true there are some distinctions - what is credible is what is likely, what one believes, not what is real.
I feel a bit more relieved, I can keep thinking of Nureldin in a sympathetic manner.
Nureldin got hired at Antena 3 in August 2012, immediately after the referendum of July 29th, which was designed by the team surrounding Voiculescu as an operation to overthrow Băsescu from the presidency, at a time which the USL thought was right (and indeed it was, due to the very serious mistakes made by the Boc and Ungureanu governments, connected to president Băsescu by an umbilical cord as they were), amid an unprecedented anti-presidential campaign, orchestrated by the media entities of Voiculescu (Sorin Ovidiu Vîntu had been arrested in June 2012, and his channel, Realitatea TV, was in full process of political repositioning, and thus it did not join the TV channels owned by Voiculescu in their campaign, like it did in the first attempt to suspend Băsescu, in February 2007).
Before she joined the media trust of Dan Voiculescu, the beautiful mestizo had worked for Realitatea TV, Naţional TV, The Money Channel and TVR Info, so, when she says that "Antena 3 is the most credible TV station", it definitely has a personal benchmark to compare against and if Antena 3 is the most credible, then I can only imagine what things are like inside the other networks.
Therefore, it is possible that, from her point of view, she is not lying, in fact, since "what is credible" is not the same as "what is true", it may indeed be the most credible station.
And yet, Nureldin can not ignore the fact that "The professor" is the founder and the "mentor" of the "Antena" network and she can not ignore what people are saying about him and his media trust.
Dan Voiculescu is a proven member of the former political police, who used "the system" to get rich, and he then left it, to escape the control it would have on his actions, fortune and businesses; meaning he started within the system, but he didn't stay with it until the end, in order to keep his winnings.
Dan Voiculescu used the money he earned, to create a press group, copying the abject and polished "model" of PRO TV: increasing ratings through boorish entertainment, in order to use the media influence as a bargaining chip; in the case of PRO TV, "the media currency" was used to buy fiscal leeway; in the case of the Antena network of TV stations, the "media currency" was used by Voiculescu to buy his position on the political stage, through a party which, like another politician, Corneliu Vadim Tudor used to say, would disappear simply by being unplugged (besides, Vadim himself had provided the "model" for creating a political party, based on the audience of a media entity); in both cases, the "media currency" was converted into real money (worth mentioning, the Antena trust did receive some fiscal leeway, although, truth be told, to a lesser degree than PRO TV).
Dan Voiculescu stepped back from the limelight of managing his businesses (as well as from the management of his political party), by acting through proxies - his daughters, to whom he apparently signed over the media trust - and resorting to using off-shore companies as cover (the whole "ingeniousness" of the system mimicked that used by his friend/enemy Sorin Ovidiu Vîntu), meaning that he was capable of lying with a straight face - "I am a mere pensioner" ("The professor" is not very skilled at anything - I've read a few phrases of his doctoral thesis and I've felt like pulling out my hair -, but he likes to use half-truths for building a parallel universe, which no one in their right minds would believe in).
Dan Voiculescu hijacked the citizens' discontent against the governments that were obedient to Băsescu, to turn it against the latter (the booze-happy, trouble maker president during whose term arrests and convictions that would have been unfathomable earlier), sensing that his time to face the legal system would come; while attempting to defend him, the propaganda of his so-called "press" trust, was incapable of subtlety, and therefore replaced it with the persistence of lies, which were most often rudimentary, using the opportunity to popularize and spread the use of unsupported claims and of twisting everything at will, with the trust becoming an epicenter of national mythomania.
But Dan Voiculescu, has finally been tried, found guilty, sentenced and sent to prison for ten years (like a movie character says, "you have been weighed, measured and found wanting").
Obviously, the facts can be interpreted as a revenge of Băsescu the sailor and perhaps that is what they are, but claiming that Voiculescu is a noble fighter against tyranny, a patriot and a hockey player, when he is in fact a proven former member of the Communist secret police and thief, who fell on his back with everyone watching upon the first attempt to skate across the ice with the stick, that is malignant mythomania; it's like the tumor that gets cut out complaining that it is martyred.
Announcing that Antena 3 has smashed every ratings record on the evening when Dan Voiculescu got arrested, well, broadcasting that kind of news, in such a circumstance, that is vain mythomania, (naturally, such a show was to be expected, both for the benefit of the faithful, as well as for those who were disgusted by the "journalism" practiced over there; it was time for the convulsions after the surgery; I was curious, myself, just like you sometimes try to sniff out something rotten, to watch the delirious show of solidarity with a crook, of an entire "press group", synthesized in the Adventist tones of the righteous Mr. Gâdea).
Launching the slogan "Antena 3 is here", when no one has kicked you out of the building (by the way, I don't know how that building became the property of Voiculescu; in the time of Ceauşescu, it used to be a training center for the Civilian Defense, hosted by the military aviation), that is wandering mythomania.
Displaying the message "TV CHANNEL SEIZED", when it's merely the landlord that has changed, that is perverse mythomania.
The beautiful psychologist Laura Nureldin disregarded the signs of mental disease displayed by its TV station and informed us that Antena 3 is the most credible TV station (even though credibility and ratings are two different things) and maybe she wasn't lying from the ratings point of view.
But she did show us that mythomania can take the form of a gorgeous woman.
On a different occasion, I wrote that seeing Andrei Gheorghe and Corina Drăgotescu interview Dan Voiculescu was like watching a live broadcast from hell.
The devil and his goblins.
This time, we get live broadcasts from the place where the madness is taking place, altering our discernment.
Luckily, the intellectual level of "content" that is being spilled is so precarious.
"Professor, we are out here!"
OK.
And he is in jail.
I hope he comes out rehabilitated.
AUTHOR'S NOTE
It is to be expected that the fans of the TV stations of Dan Voiculescu will not consider this text as just an article, but rather call me a "supporter of Băsescu", just like they do whenever I don't attack him, or I don't attack him harshly enough.
The issue of the article is not of Băsescu, in fact, it's not even Voiculescu, but rather the collateral victims of the clash between them - the mental health of the nation, the national common sense and friendliness, altered by the horrible propaganda, deprived of any scruples, of any decency of arguments, practiced by the press of Voiculescu.
I wrote the article trying to find the words that would help convey the feelings of those readers who, concerned with other things than communication, did not have the time needed to do it themselves, even though I am convinced that if our readers tried it, they could do it better than I could.
That is why I have considered this article as a job duty.
• A DECADE IN PRISON
• Dan Voiculescu, ready to become a successful writer
Dan Voiculescu has been sentenced to ten years in prison. This was the sentence that was obsessively repeated on August 8th, 2014, a torrid day for the media and one which must have had "a certain part of the press" gasping for air. All the defendants in this case were sentenced by the Court of Appeal (CAB). The harshest sentences were rendered against the "main players" of privatization of the Institute for Food Research (ICA): Dan Voiculescu was sentenced to ten years in prison through a definitive ruling, Gheorghe Mencinicopschi and the former head of the ADS Corneliu Popa were sentenced to eight years in prison each, and the former minister of Communications Sorin Pantiş has been sentenced to seven years in prison. Jean Cătălin Sandu, former head of the Legal Department of the ADS and Vlad Nicolae Săvulescu, former head of the Privatization Department and Concessioning of the ADS, have been sentenced to six years in prison, Flavius Adrian Pop, former head of division in the ADS, has been sentenced to five years in prison, and Gheorghe Sin and Constantin Baciu were sentenced to a suspended sentence of four years in prison, and Vica Ene and Grigore Marinescu, were sentenced to three years in prison each, with suspension. The court has also decided that the headquarters of the three "Antena" TV stations and of the Grivco group of companies would be seized. The magistrates have also ruled the seizure of the penthouse of Kisseleff Road, which belongs to Dan Voiculescu, and have frozen several of his properties and bank accounts. The court has also ruled the confiscation of 2.9 million lei from the daughters of Dan Voiculescu, Camelia and Corina Voiculescu, representing the equivalent value of the donations in shares of the Institute for Food Research made by Dan Voiculescu. The judges have also decided to impose a distraint on several properties owned by the other defendants. Three hours after hearing the ruling, Dan Voiculescu turned himself in to the County Police Inspectorate of Ilfov, and was subsequently taken to the penitentiary, where he will stay in quarantine for 21 days. Since the founder of the Intact group is 67 years old, he may be released after serving one third of his sentence, as stipulated by the law. After nine years, during which time this case was opened, closed and then reopened again, on Friday the final chapter came in a case which has been heavily debated.
Aside from the rulings of the Court, also very interesting are the decisions of the people, who are more or less involved in this story. All the grudges and friendships have come out, and in most cases the most elementary rules of decency have been trampled. A simple process of the postings and comments on the social networks of some TV celebrities, would make even an old sailor blush. The most sinister insults, curses and wishes have been thrown around from both sides of the imaginary fence which separates the two camps, pro and against ... Băsescu. Because yes, on the day that Dan Voiculescu was convicted, the name of Traian Băsescu was repeated far more often than a neutral observer would have expected it to be. Every last one of those who were convicted claimed their innocence even after they heard their sentences. Sorin Pantiş spoke of "an economic and political assassination", and Gheorghe Mencinicopschi claimed that the sentence was unfair.
• The legal system issues sentences, and the prime-minister issues encouragements
Victor Ponta reacted via a social network as well, but it was unclear whether he posted that message as a prime-minister, as a head of party or as a simple citizen: "I have acknowledged the decision of the Court of Appeal of Bucharest. I will not comment on rulings rendered in criminal cases, but I want to reassure everybody that as long as I am the political leader and citizen of Romania, I am required to do everything in my power so that the journalists of Antena 3/Antena 1 and every journalist in Romania, regardless of their editorial policy, practice their profession according to the right to freedom of expression and the independence of the press which are guaranteed through the Constitution. I am convinced that aside from the dramatic moments that the families of the defendants are going through, a free country can only exist if a free press exists. Together with millions of other Romanians I want to hope that < Antena 3 will be here >, now and in the future!". Other politicians have commented on the verdict, and the fact that some of them have asked "who did Voiculescu kill to go to prison?", like the mayor of Craiova, Lia Olguţa Vasilescu, did, proves that to many the legal system is one big mystery.
• Camelia Voiculescu: "Convicted for his courage!"
One of the daughters of Dan Voiculescu, Camelia Voiculescu, shareholder and president of Intact Media Group (IMG) expressed her point of view in a press release: "What happened today (ed. note: Friday) defies not only the practices of justice in a democratic country, that is part of the European Union, but even the principles of the rule of the law, so often brought up precisely by those who disregard the law. Today, through a blatant violation of the right to a fair trial, my father is paying the price for keeping the press from being controlled by one faction in Romania. For courage. But his constant struggle against a regime that has hijacked the votes of 7.4 million Romanians, a regime which has humiliated and wronged so many people, can not be stopped through this arbitrary abuse. The journalists of this Group, which my father founded more than 20 years ago and which has become the most powerful media platform in Romania, will continue speaking out truths about a system that wants to take people's dignity away. The power of this Group has been built with the confidence which the public has invested in it, the public which has honored and validated our journalistic mission. Millions of people have been able to follow, through the journalistic investigations of Antena 3, how the people who are supposed to enforce the law are breaking it, how freedom is being sold, and have become witnesses to the creation of a closed system that tramples elementary rights and freedoms. He has fought with dignity, courage and honor against a regime that is increasingly reminiscent of times which were considered behind us. I am very proud of him!".
On a day when time seemed to stand still for quite a lot of people, the only one who was making plans for the future was Dan Voiculescu, who was announcing that he was ready to write several books during his imprisonment. (OCTAVIAN DAN)

OMG, how did I not stumble across this piece of... well, "press", sooner? ???????????? I wish I'd found it back in the day, when I was still a news anchor (you know, the "face" of the news programme, who does not post the on-screen texts, nor decides what they should state; but surely you know that, being a journalist and all). I had a great laugh. Thank you for that. Also, thank you for being one of the oh, so shallow people who made me quit working in the media. FYI, I was a Logic contest winner back in highschool. But you wouldn't know that. You only know my name and my face. Which you used in order to support your slander. BTW, I could drag you in court for doing that, you know? Nah, just kidding. I do have standards. You are below them.
