The crisis period we are going through shows a certain lack of trust in a series of international bodies, says Dan Paul, the president of the Brokers' Association, who said that in his opinion, the European Union will have a problem because of that.
"I think the issue of the lack of solidarity arises, and the European Union has not demonstrated any solidarity at this time.
I think that there are going to be talks about some countries exiting the EU, because its role, very politicized lately, is not having a positive effect. And I think that other countries will be considering doing what Britain has done", said Dan Paul.
Concerning Romania, he reminded that the crisis period we are going through, raises the issue of the Government quickly resorting to loans.
"I don't think it is the time to rush in head first and personally I don't agree with the idea of such loans. I think that Romania is not in the same situation it was in 2007-2008, when it took on debt", Dan Paul said. "Concerning tourism, it must be said that it only accounts for at most 3% of Romania's GDP, so the fact that tourism will suffer this year doesn't mean that much for the GDP, but of course, there are many businesses that are links in the economic chain, such as coffee shops, restaurants, which are currently suffering".
The president of the Association of Brokers said that in his opinion, the crisis we are going through is not worse than the one of 2008.
"I think it is a momentary thing, and the economy will recover towards the end of the year, but various power and economic models will be revised", Dan Paul said in closing.
