UBB initiates a master's program in cybersecurity in the English language

Babeş-Bolyai University (UBB) in Cluj-Napoca announces the initiation of a Master's program in Cybersecurity in English, aimed at preparing future specialists in this vital field in the context of the transition to the information society. According to the educational institution: Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca (UBB), through the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, has initiated a Master's program in English in Cybersecurity starting from the academic year 2023-2024, designed to prepare future specialists in this field, which is of vital importance in the context of the transition to the information society. The courses of the new program will begin in October of this year, with the academic year 2023-2024, and the admission process has attracted more applicants than expected. Over 40 students, including international students, admitted to the program will become specialists in the field of Cybersecurity, and admitted candidates may even choose to study one academic year at other renowned universities in Europe."According to the source, this program is the first and currently the only accredited Master s program in Romania by EIT Digital, thus gaining international recognition. UBB is supported in the development and implementation of the program by Computacenter, a renowned technological partner. Given the acute shortage of specialists in the field of cybersecurity, a knowledge gap, and underestimation of the threats in this domain, the program aims to train specialists in Cybersecurity to fill this gap. The curriculum is carefully designed to provide fundamental skills in the field of cybersecurity to meet the labor market's requirements in this field, says UBBs statement. UBB Rector, Prof. Dr. Daniel David, stated: Through this program, UBB addresses the needs of society and the hot topic issues in the field. It does so in its characteristic style, with an academic program organized according to the highest international standards, conducted in an internationally recognized language, with prestigious professional partners and accredited in the prestigious network of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT Digital). And this is already evident from the large number of Master s students, both from Romania and abroad, who are already part of the UBB community. The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science is the largest Computer Science faculty in Romania. Collaborations with the industry and EIT Digital were fundamental pillars in proposing this new Master s specialization.
