Courier company UPS Romania concluded the first nine months of the year with a 57% y/y sales growth following the renunciation to customs duty as a result of Romania"s accession to the EU, as well as the expansion of the UPS service portfolio in Romania, said Iulia Nartea, Executive Manager of Trans Courier, the UPS authorized service agent in Romania.
The company aligned the Romanian service portfolio to the EU service portfolio and also improved the outgoing mail sorting system. UPS is the only courier in Romania to offer COD-VOG (Collect at Delivery), which means that the value of the delivered product can be collected on delivery, thus facilitating e-commerce.
In Romania, the company"s leading product is Express Plus, which ensures next-business-day delivery until 9 a.m. UPS Romania has increased the car fleet by 45% y/y and has introduced the Delivery Information Acquisition Devices, which enable the delivery person to collect an electronic signature of the recipient and make it available within the company"s network.
