The US and China are responsible for generating the Covid 19 pandemic, is the conclusion of the report approved by the Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic of the US House of Representatives, a document that was published on December 2, 2024, according to the Epoch Times. The document shows that Sars-Cov 2, the virus that generated the Covid-19 pandemic, is the result of genetic modifications carried out in the laboratory in Wuhan, China, and the pandemic was due to an accidental release of the virus from that laboratory.
The Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic claims in its 520-page report that the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), through the EcoHealth Alliance. According to the sources cited and the report, the research, facilitated with US funds, relied on genetic manipulation of viruses to study their pathogenic potential.
The report accuses the Chinese communist regime, US government agencies and members of the international scientific community of trying to hide information about the origins of the pandemic. According to the report, several researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology fell ill with a COVID-19-like illness several months before the first official case was detected at the Wuhan market. In a document from January 2021, the US State Department reported that researchers at WIV had been showing symptoms similar to COVID-19 since the fall of 2019. The institute also has a documented history of creating chimeric viruses, combinations of SARS-like coronaviruses, using advanced genetic engineering techniques.
In the document cited, Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), is accused of influencing a scientific paper, "The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2", which rejected the hypothesis of a laboratory origin. In the June 2023 hearing, Fauci stated that he did not reject the theory of a laboratory leak, but admitted that he initially considered it a conspiracy.
The report criticizes the World Health Organization (WHO) for its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which was considered inadequate. The document shows that despite warnings from Taiwan, which notified the WHO of cases of atypical pneumonia in Wuhan on December 31, 2019, the agency did not react promptly. The subcommittee concluded that the WHO gave in to pressure from the Chinese Communist Party.
The report also refers to the lack of transparency and integrity in the management of information related to the origin of COVID-19. According to the source cited, Brad Wenstrup, the chairman of the subcommittee, stressed the need to regain public trust through accountability, honesty and transparency.
The Epoch Times also reports that a study published in March 2024 in Risk Analysis supports a high probability that the virus has a non-natural origin. Although the study does not provide definitive proof, its authors stated that the possibility of a laboratory origin cannot be ignored.
