ALRO Slatina increased productivity to 90 tons of aluminium per employee in 2007, according to Vimetco Country Manager Marian Nastase. "When we took over ALRO Slatina, the productivity was below 50 tons per employee. In 2007, it was 90 tons per employee," he said, quoted by NewsIn. At the moment, ALRO has 4,300 employees. Preliminary figures indicate that ALRO incurred an 88% increase in taxes to 178 million RON.
The average gross salary set for this year is 2,900 RON. In addition, employees receive a bonus for last year"s performance, a Christmas bonus, vacation bonus, Easter bonus and other incentives. Also, ALRO spent some 3 million USD in OH&S programs.
ALRO reported a preliminary net profit of 438 million RON for last year, up by 15% y/y. The turnover reached over 2 billion RON, whereas the cast aluminium production reached 238,000 tons, up by 8.2% y/y. The company is controlled by Vimetco (formerly Marco) Group with 84.19%. Fondul Proprietatea has 9.93%.
