Drug maker Antibiotice SA Iasi is currently the third largest pharmaceutical producer on the Romanian market, its products being sold in over 40 countries worldwide. Antibiotice ended 2006 with a turnover of 195.67 million RON, increasing by 19.6% from the past year. Net profit rose by 21.14% yoy, amounting to 23.83 million RON. Last year, exports totalled over 6,000,000 USD. Between 2002 and 2006, the company invested approximately 24 million USD in production capabilities, modern equipment and environment care.
Antibiotice reported a turnover of 41,698,204 RON for the first quarter of the current fiscal year, compared with 36,690,153 RON in the same period last year. Net profit amounted to 10,297,667 RON, compared with 9,858,015 RON in the year-ago quarter.
For the fiscal year 2007, the company expects a turnover of 234.5 million RON, up 20% from last year, while gross profit should increase by 21%, to 36.5 million RON. This year, Antibiotice plans to invest over 5 million EUR. The company"s medium-term objective is a turnover of over 120 million EUR in 2010.
