Banca Romaneasca has increased the offered interest rate for EUR-denominated deposits in a bid to remain competitive and nurture the customers" interest in such products, in light of the projected inflation rate, the bank announced. The decision is the result of a number of factors, including the National Bank"s reference rate.

The bank believes both deposits and loans will remain on an upward trend in 2008. An increase in the interest rate on loans is also planned for the near future in line with both the cost of financing and the competition.

Starting February 18th, the bank has increased the interest rate offered for EUR-denominated deposits to 4.3% for 1 month and to 4.45% for 3 and 12 months from the previous 4.1% and, respectively 4.3% and 4.4%.
