EnglishNortheastern Romanian winemaker Cotnari SA achieved a 17% y/y increase in sales and a 20% increase in turnover, according to Executive Director Constantin Derleanu. The turnover forecast for the entire year is over 30 million EUR. the company only sells bottled white wine of controlled origin. Last year, the company harvested 9,850 tons of grapes from 1,190 hectares of vineyard. This year, the plan is to harvest 11,500 tons of grapes from 1,250 hectares of vineyard. The 2008 production target is 76,500 hectoliters. This year"s investment budget of 10 million EUR will be spent on modernizing decantation and storage facilities and starting new vineyards.
