Yesterday, the Chamber of Deputies rejected the simple motion of the USR and the Forza Dreptei party against the Minister of Finance, Marcel Boloş. The simple motion entitled "Minister Boloş - the inventor and guardian of the sickness tax must go" was rejected with 172 votes "against", 82 "for", two abstentions and two deputies did not vote at all. Marcel Boloş declared at the debate of the simple motion against him, from the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies, that he is here to talk about a so-called "sickness tax", which does not exist in the Fiscal Code. He also said that some choose to use democratic tools for petty political struggles that sometimes place us in downright paradoxical situations: "We are the only country in the EU that allows itself the luxury, with the disastrous consequences of rigor, of having the holiday allowance medical higher than the salary when you are at work". The minister also said that it is the first time that Romania benefits from a Health Program that supports massive investments in hospital infrastructure. He told those in the Opposition if they can't find anything to be useful to the Romanians, at least stop confusing and misinforming. USR President Cătălin Drula stated that Marcel Boloş is the most harmful Minister of Finance that Romania had after 1989, and Romania has an inflation more than twice higher than the EU average.
