The financial international crisis has brought the land market in the vicinity of Bucharest to a standstill and has caused a drop in prices, Eurometropola representatives stated for our newspaper. They have pointed out that at the moment, the price of plots near Bucharest has dropped by some 25-30% compared to the beginning of last year. Less affected are plots of land with good road access, in particular plots for building homes (500 -1000 sqm), which have access to utilities and are readily constructible. Owners who last year were asking for extremely high prices, for plots of land with average placement, are now offering discounts, as are owners who are in dire need of cash.
The project of the Bucharest Metropolitan Area (ZMB) has generated, these last few years, real estate speculation involving the plots of land surrounding the Capital. Officials of the real estate agency "EuroMetropola" claim that the project has now been abandoned and that the value of some plots around Bucharest has only truly increased because of certain infrastructure investments and of private real estate investments.
The press release we have received states that properties which are up for sale in areas such as Fundulea, where numerous industrial parks were built, or Brăneşti and Belciugatele, where residential as well as industrial projects were started, now have added value.
