The first steps on the path of learning are very important. Early education is the cornerstone of children's development, therefore any investment in this sector is, in fact, an investment in the future, stated the Minister of Education, Ligia Deca. According to the minister: "Early education is the cornerstone of our children's development and, therefore, any investment in this sector is, in fact, an investment in the future. This was also one of the central topics of the discussions at the International Conference "An bright future beyond borders: investment in early childhood education and care", which I had the pleasure to participate in this morning, an event organized in Chisinau by the UNICEF Offices in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, in collaboration with the UNICEF Regional Office for Europe and Asia Central". According to the minister, Romania understood the importance of early education, and the new Law on pre-university education reflects this. "We have expanded the network of nurseries and kindergartens through European funds, as well as with the support of the World Bank, and we have gradually reduced the age of entry into compulsory education: the small group of kindergartens will become compulsory from 2030", claimed the Minister of Education. "Our country remains close to the Republic of Moldova, including in terms of the development of the education sector - the close collaboration that we already have is an important step in order for us, together, to find solutions to the problems that our systems face", he added Ligia Deca. In his opinion, it is necessary for early education to develop in close connection with the university environment and pedagogical high schools, and that is why there will be a training route dedicated to early education teachers.
